Influence of Coal City FM’s “Ka ọha malu” programme on the cultural orientation of Enugu urban residents

This study aimed to determine the level of exposure Enugu urban residents have towards Coal City FM’s “Ka Oha Malu” programme and the level of influence the programme have on them. The Cultivation theory was adopted. Using a survey research method and multi-stage sampling technique, a sample of 385 respondents was drawn from the population of 5, 181, 710. The study found out the high level of the residents’ exposure to the programme and how the programme influenced their orientation towards some cultural norms. Therefore, this study concludes that more of such interactive programme should be encouraged to help bring back most of our youths who no longer pay attention to indigenous culture. Hence, the study recommends that NGOs should also invest and sponsor such programmes for maximum effect.
